Portstewart ladiesenjoy Countdownat latest meeting

The Vice-President, Mrs Helen Jamieson, welcomed everyone to the November meeting of Portstewart Women’s Institute.

It proved to be another busy meeting with lots to entertain everyone.

Members were informed about the Area Committee Meeting which had taken place at the end of October. Patterns for the Primrose Dick Cup were handed out to all those present.

Fireside quiz sheets from the Magazine Sub-Committee were also available to purchase.

A lively Bring and Buy sale followed with many bargains being snapped up and this was followed by the very enjoyable TV Gameshow ‘Countdown’, conducted very ably by Mrs Margaret McGeagh.

The winning contestants were Mrs Jean Falkner and Mrs Kathleen Stewart.

The Margaret Pollock Trophy for a ‘Lemon Drizzle Cake’ was won by Mrs Maureen Garvin, who also won the monthly competition for a ‘Souvenir Fridge Magnet’.

Both competitions were judged by Mrs Margaret McGeagh.

The evening closed with a rendition of the Countrywoman’s Song.
