Post office move in Tandragee

Proposals have been made which the Post Office claim will improve postal services in Tandragee.

The plans were announced as part of the Post Office’s modernisation programme. It was decided that the service could be improved if it was provided from two new locations.

“We have reviewed future access to our services in Tandragee, taking into account the hilly nature of the area,” explained regional network manager for Post Office, Suzanne Richardson.

“Following this review we believe we would better serve the needs of the local community by providing the service from two new locations, creating a better spread of service provision across the area.

“The two new branches would operate from Centra, Ballymore Service Station, 50 Portadown Road, which would be known as Ballymore Post Office and Morrow’s Spar, 20-24 Mill Street, which would retain the name Tandragee Post Office.”

If the proposed changes are approved, the new services would operate as new local style branches.

Ms Richardson said the new branches would be easily accessed by customers.

She said, “Similarly to the current branch both new locations benefit from wide entrance doors, level access and provide customer parking including dedicated bays for blue badge holders. Both locations are served by direct bus services with bus stops close by.”

The two new branches would mean longer opening hours, with the majority of Post Office products and services still available to the public.

A six-week local public consultation is currently under way in order to engage with customers and get feedback on the suitability of the proposed new locations. It will run until November 27, and customers should contact the Post Office via the Customer Helpline on 03457223344, writing to: FREEPOST Your Comments, or emailing [email protected]

The changes are due to take place during January and February 2016.
