Power returns but some still remain without electricity in NI town

A lunchtime power cut which wiped out supply to hundreds of homes and businesses in a Co Armagh town is getting back to normal.

Central Lurgan and surrounding areas are affected.

Some businesses who opened today for the first time since the latest lockdown voiced frustration.

According to the NIE webside the power went down just before 1pm today.

Around 1116 homes and business were affected.

More than 400 homes and businesses remain without power.

“A repair team has been assigned and will be on its way as soon as possible,” said the NIE.

The estimated restoration time is 4pm today.
