Praise Evening in Donemana Presbyterian Church

On Palm Sunday evening, Sunday, April 13, at 7pm, a Praise Evening with Rev David McBeth and musical talent from the congregation, Rachel McCombe, Gemma Watt and sisters Judith and Ruth Allen is being held in Donemana Presbyterian Church in support of Mtunthama Congregation in central Malawi.

Six members from the church, Rev Dr Stewart and Mrs Patricia Jones, Kenny and Noelle Holmes, Bill McKenzie and Gwen Smyth were in Mtunthama, a small village in central Malawi almost five years ago. Whilst there, they ran a Bible Club for the children and visited schools and orphanages in the surrounding area.

Mtunthama had begun building a new church and when the group was there, they observed the many bricks that the Ladies’ Guild had made for the project and saw the preparation of the foundations and the beginnings of some of the brickwork forming the church.

Since that visit Donemana Presbyterian Church has engaged in continued support for the building project which also includes an orphanage.

The Praise evening continues that support and is a meaningful way to start Easter Week. After the praise, a time of companionship can be shared over supper.
