“Few charity groups work harder than the Banbridge Action Cancer Support Group. They are particularly active in raising both funds and awareness and I have been honoured to join them on so many occasions when they have given of their time and effort to help make a real difference to the lives of others.

“The group will once again put the town firmly on the map in October by ‘Painting’ the town Pink - an annual event which takes many months of painstaking preparation and is always a huge success.

“Without their hard work and the dedicated support of the public the charity simply wouldn’t be able to continue to save lives and support local people affected by cancer.

“The services provided by the charity includes breast cancer screening of roughly 10,000 women each year, 2,500 therapeutic support sessions for adults, children and young people who have been affected by cancer and 5,000 health checks for men and women. “To continue to achieve this level of success the charity relies on the generosity of local people.”
