Praise for Down success
UPPER Bann Sinn Féin MLA John O'Dowd has sent his congratulations to the Down GAA squad.
He has praised the players and their management team following their success in overcoming a strong Kildare side to earn a place in the All–Ireland final against Cork.
The Assembly Member, who attended the game said: “This team has done their county and Ulster proud and gaining a place in the All-Ireland final in the 50th anniversary year of Down’s first All-Ireland win gives an added dimension to this victory.
“I wish them success in the final but win or lose they have maintained Ulster football’s place at the fore of the GAA.”
