Praise for Jesus and Me volunteers

ULSTER Unionist MLA Jo-Anne Dobson has praised the dedication of local volunteers involved in bringing the Jesus and Me (JAM) Clubs to Craigavon.

Meeting up with the group as they promoted their organisation at ASDA Portadown recently Mrs Dobson said: “It was great to see so many enthusiastic local people who were eager to learn what JAM NI have to offer them.

“The volunteers are all so passionate about what they are doing, including the positive benefits which clubs will bring to local young people and the wider community as they spread the word of the Bible in Craigavon.

“They received a fantastic reception from the ASDA shoppers, especially as they used their puppets Rosie and Jake to spread the message of the Gospel to younger children in a straight-forward way. I would like to thank ASDA Portadown, and especially Ciara, the Fresh Trading Manager who helped facilitate their appearance in the store.

“The word of the Bible has so much to offer young children and I fully support the group as they establish themselves in Craigavon.”

Independent faith-based group, JAM NI is a new non-denominational, faith based organisation which is launching in the greater Craigavon area to bring the hope and message of the Bible and Jesus to the children of the area.

JAM NI will be holding clubs every Saturday morning for primary school children in Ardowen, on the green beside the flats, at Garrymore, on the green opposite the shop and also at Clonmeen, on the green beside the children’s playground.

The format of the clubs will include, amongst others, singing, Bible stories, quizzes with prizes and will last for approximately 45 minutes.

The group, made up of local volunteers aims to provide practical help and guidance to the community to improve their quality of life and also empower local people.
