Praise for locals in aid for Burkina Faso

THEY won't be alongside them physically, but supporters of charitable projects in Burkina Faso will be with their friends in spirit when a Bible School opens next month.

For thanks to the generosity of local people, activists in Burkina Faso have been able to build a bible school which will accommodate three classrooms, but, as yet, no dormitories or water.

Students will sleep for the moment in one of the classrooms.

In correspondence to Ballymoney woman, Edwina Chambers, Etienne Yameogo has spoken of the delight and the trust in God to provide the things needed.

Etienne has sent a picture of a drillwell that was installed some nine momths ago with 3379 contributed from here and at the time of writing there was no device to pump out the water.

That has now been taken care of by Edwina and her fund-raisers and 1300 has been provided for the necessary equipment.

Edwina has spoken of how her faith in God has enabled her to help raise funding not only for this latest project but for other worthy ventures.

She is fully aware of the hardship people in Burkina Faso suffer and she has worked tirelessly to find the necessary monies.

However, she is quick to pass the praise on to local people whose generosity continues to amaze her.

“The public have simply been marvellous. We couldn’t ask for better support.

“We had a sponsored walk recently at the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre and one family raised 507.30p. which was fantastic. This enabled us to get us the pump for the water,” Edwina told the Times.

Edwina has been touched by the humility displayed by Etienne who, in his letter, said they were trusting in God to provide the things they need.

“Please remember all these in your prayers and may the Lord bless you all in Jesus precious name,” he added.

Speaking of the giving nature of the Ballymoney people, Edwina revealed that more than 1200 shoe boxes had been assembled by Drop Inn Ministries and sent to orphans across the world.
