All of the music was selected and played by sisters Judith and Ruth Allen supported by Gemma Watt, excellent musical young talent within the church.

Andrew Hume led the service and welcomed the congregation. He gave the Scriptural sentences from Psalm 19 verse 1, “The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork.” After the popular hymn, ‘King of Kings, Majesty’, Chelsie Hamilton opened the service in prayer. The second hymn was ‘Jesus paid it all’ and this was followed by a scripture reading taken from Jonah 4, read by Mark Campbell and Gemma Watt. ‘There is a higher throne’ was the third praise after which Gwen Smyth offered Prayers of Intercession.

Ruth Allen played the organ and Judith Allen and Gemma Watt accompanied her on the flute during the offering playing the modern Stuart Townend hymn, ‘The Lord’s my Shepherd, I’ll not want’. Lucy Thompson, Mark Campbell, Jenny Campbell and Chelsie Hamilton collected the offering, after which Rev Dr Stewart Jones offered a prayer of thanksgiving. The service continued with the hymn, ‘You are my vision’

Using the portions of Scripture read by Mark and Gemma, Rev Jones delivered his message on how the book of Jonah did not have the ending that people want. After a lovely rendition of ‘Across the Lands’, Rev Jones brought the service to a close with the Benediction and he and Andrew Hume went to the church door to speak to members of the congregation as they left the service.
