Praying for Kenneth

A CHURCH service has been organised to mark the first anniversary of the disappearance of Garvagh man Kenneth Thompson.

A heart-breaking and agonising year has passed for Kenneth’s family with still no news as to his whereabouts and the circumstances of his disappearance.

Kenneth was last seen on Saturday, October 17, 2009.

To mark this anniversary his family and friends plan to hold a Service of Reflection and Thanksgiving for the life of Mr Kenneth Thompson in First Garvagh Presbyterian Church this Saturday (September 25) at 2pm.

Refreshments will be served in the church hall afterwards.

The worship service will include praise and prayer, along with reflections upon Kenneth’s life by those whom Kenneth’s sphere of life had touched.

Those who will pay tribute to Kenneth will include Blackhill Accordion Band, the Damhead Miniature Railway, First Garvagh Choir and the Garvagh Mission Hall.

A retiring offering will help support the RNLI and local rescue organisations who helped in the search for Kenneth and to whom his family are deeply indebted.

Kenneth left behind two sons, Andrew and Stephen, a brother Ivan and sister Valerie.
