Presbyterians rally in Lisburn

Clergy and members of the Dromore Presbytery’s 22 congregations assembled recently at St Columba’s Presbyterian Church in Lisburn for the Moderator’s Rally.
The Rt Rev Dr Michael Barry (Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland) and Former Moderator, The Very Rev Dr Donald Patton, pictured at the Moderators Rally in St Columbas Presbyterian Church, Lisburn on Sunday 8th February. Minister of Hillhall Presbyterian Church and Moderator of the Dromore Presbytery, the Rev Paul Jamieson, welcomed everyone, not least the Rt Rev Dr Michael Barry Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.

Dr Barry presented a brief overview of his year as Moderator.

In his address, the moderator poke of the need to ‘come’ to worship ‘then go’ and be a people of service and outreach and serve Jesus in the home, workplace, school etc.

Minister of St Columba’s, the Rev James Todd and his wife Sharon led a slot entitled ‘Marriage’.

Rachel McConkey presided on piano and with Mark Todd on percussion led the congregational praise.

An offering was taken for the Moderator’s Appeal.

Supper was served after the service.
