Organised by Mrs Lynda Anderson, there were lots of “super games and loads of fun” during the event. In attendance were Junior CE children and their leaders from the North Street church together with Carrickfergus Methodist, Magheramorne Presbyterian, Ballynure Presbyterian, Ballyhenry Presbyterian and Carnmoney Presbyterian Societies.

Divided into seven all-age teams, composed of members from every CE society present, the children spent four minutes at every game. After all their scores were recorded, the teams moved along to try the next game. The Smarties, with a superb score of 735, were declared winners with the Skittles runners-up.

Mrs Jean McGall, the Irish National Union president of Christian Endeavour, along with her husband, Ken were the special guests. At the conclusion, Mrs McGall gave a short address, based on her presidential theme, ‘Mighty is Our God’.

Meanwhile, every year the Irish National Christian Endeavour Union holds a Week of Prayer when Endeavourers of all ages throughout Ireland are encouraged to set aside a special time to pray for the work and witness of the movement.

The East Antrim Union will be holding meetings on Monday, November 3 at 7.45pm in Carrickfergus Methodist Church and on Friday, November 7 at 8.00pm in Ballyhenry Presbyterian Church and everyone will be welcome. Some societies will also hold special times of prayer as part of their regular meetings. The local organiser is Elizabeth McKeever, Carrickfergus.
