The Rotary Club of Carrickfergus used its annual President’s Night to join forces with the Carrickfergus branch of Action Cancer to raise funds for the work of the charity.

They held an evening in the Clarion Hotel which featured the Apex Jazz Band and an auction of paintings donated by the local artist, who is renowned for his landscape and “silly sheep” paintings and has a studio/art gallery in the Courtyard at Scotch Quarter.

The function also featured a tombola and ballot, which raised the sum of £2,400 for the local branch of Action Cancer (see photos on page 11).

As well as regular meetings at the Clarion Hotel with guest speakers, Carrickfergus Rotary Club takes part in a range of initiatives in support of charity.
