Wing Commander Noel Williams and Joe Corr received the National Presidential Certificate, the highest award the Association can present, from RAFA President Air Marshal Sir Dusty Millar.

The awards were made for outstanding service to the organisation and for commitment to raising funds for the welfare support it provides.

Colin Murphy, branch chairman said: “Noel has been our Wings Appeal Organiser for more than 10 years and as a result of his work ethos and organisational skill we are, and have been for some years, the highest collecting branch right across the UK.

“Joe is our Standard Bearer and is one of our prolific collectors who operates mainly in the Glengormley and Newtownabbey districts. He stands for hour upon hour at various outlets for both the Royal British Legion and the RAF Association. Both men are wholly deserving of their prestigious award.”

Both men will be presented with their certificates at the RAFA National Conference in England in the new year.
