The aim of the awards are to promote e-learning by identifying, recognising and rewarding individuals and teams throughout Northern Ireland who are spearheading the development and effective use of technology to enhance teaching and learning.

However, the aim of the awards is not just to create ‘winners’, but an opportunity to showcase the contribution and impact of technology in further education, highlight best practice and raise awareness of the extensive benefits of technology to the learners, employers and communities as a whole.

Robert McLaughlin Head of Quality Excellence and Development at SERC said: “It’s fantastic recognition of the innovative work in e-learning undertaken by the learners and staff in the College.”

Speaking at the event Dr Stephen Farry - Minister for the Department for Employment and Learning said: “These awards acknowledge those who are leading the way in developing, and effectively using, technology to enhance teaching and learning in our further and higher education and training sectors.

“The Innovation Awards scheme is the perfect vehicle to raise the profile and showcase examples of effective technology-based teaching and learning. Congratulations to all the winners.”
