The band has been holding the parade every year since they were formed all those years ago in the village of Galgorm.

Over the past years this parade has always attracted the best in Northern Ireland but also from Scotland and the England and this year will be no different with bands expected from all over and we hope everyone will enjoy the display of music and style of the visiting bands.

Earlier in the month the Band unfurled and dedicated a new memorial flag to remember all those who have served in the Maine but are no longer with us. In the band’s 40th Anniversary year this was very special and they had a great night in Galgorm. Now to add to the celebrations the Sir Knights of Galgorm and Galgorm Parks Telford Memorial RBP 1109 have bought a new standard for the band to celebrate the 40th Anniversary. The Pride of the Maine and the Sir Knights of RBP 1109 have been parading on the last Saturday in August for over three decades and it is with massive Thanks that the band has accepted this kind gesture. To mark this the band will hold a short dedication service in the Protestant Hall on Saturday 6th June at 6pm before they put the standard on show for the first time at their parade.

Pride of the Maine would invite everyone to come into Ballymena for a night of Cultural Family Entertainment for everyone and celebrate 40 Years of the Pride of the Maine gong from strength to strength. Also remember the band will be holding an Anniversary Dinner in Leighinmohr House on Friday, November 7 if you would like to attend then tickets are available from any band member.
