Primary plans

IT WAS announced that Craigavon was to get its first primary school in June 1967.

A layout plan was displayed at a meeting of Armagh County Education Committee.

The school, which was to be built in Tullygally, was to accommodate 540 pupils and be divided into four sections - the assembly hall and dining rooms, nursery, class rooms for ‘infant grades’ and a section for ‘juniors’.

Meetings of Scouts, Wolf Cubs and Brownies were also to be held in the assembly hall, which would be designed in such a way that it could be sealed off from the rest of the school when being used by outside organisations.
