Prince Charles and Duchess to visit

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall will visit Northern Ireland as part of a four-day visit, it has been announced.

The visit to Northern Ireland by The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will happen during their visit to the Republic of Ireland in May.

It has not been revealed if Their Royal Highnesses will visit the north west as part of their tour.

The four-day visit to both countries will take place from May, 19 to 22.

Officials said planning is still in progress and more details will be released in due course.

This will be Their Royal Highnesses’ first official joint visit to the Republic of Ireland.

In April 2014 The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall welcomed Irish President, Michael D Higgins, to the UK as part of the Irish State Visit.

The Prince has officially visited the Republic of Ireland twice before, in May/June 1995 and again in February 2002.
