Princess Royal flies in
As patron of the Woodland Trust, HRH Princess Anne was given an overview of the Woodland’s Trust’s plans for the WWI commemorations and the development of a 53-acre site of land at Faughan Valley, which is to be planted out with 40,000 trees and a myriad of wild flowers, including Flanders poppies, to mark the Centenary of WW1.
The site is one of four woodlands being created across the UK as memorial woodlands standing as a living reminder of those who lost their lives in WWI between 1914 and 1918.
