Principal hails 'wonderful' results

LORETO College Specialist School principal, Brian Lenehan, has described the school's A-level results as "wonderfull".

“We are very, very pleased with our results,” Mr Lenehan told the Times on the morning of this year’s results.

“I would like to congratulate the pupils on their efforts. They worked very hard and showed great commitment to achieve the results they have.

“In addition I would like to pay tribute to our teachers for all their hard work. In terms of statistics we are absolutely delighted with the results.”

Mr Lenehan said that of the 91 pupils who sat A-level examinations 84% had obtained 3 A-levels grades A to C.

“We had a 100 percent pass rate in all our subjects,” said Mr Lenehan.

In the first year of A* grades, 8.3% of Loreto pupils achieved A* grades, 40.3% of all grades were either A or A* and 75% of all grades were B grade or higher..

The headmaster paid particular congratulations to a number of exceptional students.

He revealed that 17 pupils had obtained three straight A grades or better and of these 11 had obtained four straight A’s. One pupils obtained four A* grades.
