Principal ‘nicked’ - but it’s all for Davy’s charities

THIS year, Harpur’s Hill Primary School in Coleraine has chosen to support Davy Boyle, ‘The Caring Caretaker’ as their main charity fundraiser, with all money raised going towards his nine chosen charities.

These are Chest Heart & Stroke Association, Ulster Cancer Foundation, NI Children to Lapland Trust, Defibrillator at the Heart of Every Game, Community Rescue Service, Spina Bifida, Friends of Willowbrook, The Blind Centre and Callum’s Chance of Sight.

Last Tuesday, local police, accompanied by Davy, interrupted the morning assembly to ‘arrest’ principal David Radcliffe and hold him until the children agreed to raise over £500 for the above charities.

As Mr. Radclife was led away in handcuffs, he bribed the children by saying that if they raised enough money, he would organise a special party to celebrate his release prior to the Easter holidays.

The school is delighted to support this cause, as all the charities chosen this year are not only based locally, but also have a special connection to the majority of children and parents in the local community.
