Principal David Knox said he was “very pleased” with the success of the school’s sixth formers this year, pointing to the high number of students achieving three or more A* - C grades at A Level.

“We have had some remarkable performances and some very sound performances,” he said “But overall as a year group they have done very well indeed.”

Reflecting on the results overall, Mr Knox revealed that percentage of pupils getting three A* - C grades was down slightly on last year. But he stressed that Ballyclare High will “still be on the right side of the line with regard to the average for Northern Ireland grammar schools.”

“It’s in keeping with recent years with the results that we have attained at A Level and AS Level so we are pleased.

“We have a very creditable set of results and I am pleased with them,” he added.
