Probation for sexual assault

A 58-year-old Banbridge man has been placed on the Sex Offender’s Register for five years.

Appearing for sentencing at last week’s local court was Norman McCauley from Flough Road who pleaded guilty to charges of sexual assault and the sexual assault of a child.

The offences occurred on July 11 last year.

District Judge Mr Paul Copeland placed McCauley on probation for two years, ordering that he must participate in the community sex offenders group work programme and live at an address approved by his supervising probation officer.
