Probation order

A CRAIGAVON man was told to work with probation service to adress his alcohol consumption or he could end up wasting most of his life in custody.

The case against Collum Madden (19), of Oakvale, Moyraverty, had been heard at a previous court and adjourned for pre-sentence reports.

He had thrown what appeared to be a stone at a police landrover but missed, later in the day he shouted abuse at police.

District Judge Alan White said: "I suspect we are dealing with the effects of alcohol."

Sentencing Madden to 12 months probabtion Mr White made a condition that he attend an alcohol management course "in the hope if you do that it will make a difference and not waste your life in custody."
