Problem with cat naps

A MARALIN woman attended Moira Rural Council to complain about defects in her new house and accused a neighbour's cat of having gone through her window and taken a nap on her bed.

She admitted that she wasn't fond of cats but didn't mind if they were kept under control.

But the cats of Maralin and some dogs also fouled her doorstep and pathway and scratched through the garden soil.

Mr George McCartney told her the control the council had over tenants' pets was rather limited.

They had never restricted people from keeping a pet and possibly, if they did, would be accused of dictatorship.

The woman replied: "Some of these are not pets, they are just running wild."
