Programme of activities launched by council for kids

The school bell will soon sound for the last time this term and parents can rest easy as Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council announce an exciting programme of activities to keep children and young people happy over the summer months.

Developed by the council in partnership with Banbridge District Sports Association, the Everybody Active 2020 Programme (supported by Sport NI). and Banbridge District Arts Committee, this year’s exciting programme offers a superb selection of fun activities which will ensure young ones never get bored during the holidays.

Delivered by a top team of professional coaches and tutors, the vast range of sports and arts activities will aim to promote values of respect and friendship, enabling children and young people to have fun, meet new friends, learn new skills and develop new interests.

Sports enthusiasts can go for gold with a host of high energy activities to choose from from including, badminton, canoeing, climbing, dance, multi sports, netball and tennis.

Creative kids and culture vultures can enjoy an array of arts and crafts courses including sandless castles, enchanted cottages, mission to the stars and pebble insects.

Details of all activities and courses are included in the programme guide which is available from council facilities including Banbridge Leisure Centre, Dromore Community Centre, Gilford Community Centre, Rathfriland Community Centre, The Old Town Hall, Banbridge and the F.E. McWilliam Gallery and Studio from Wednesday 8 June 2106.

Dates, fees and age groups vary by course and early booking is strongly recommended as places are limited.
