Programme of events for Holy Week at St Marks Church

The Holy week programme of devotions and events at St. Mark’s begins with a special Passiontide Service of hymns and readings on Palm Sunday March 29 at 7pm.

In this Service the story of Christ’s Passion is told by means of several Bible readings interspersed with some of the great Passiontide hymn.

From Monday March 30 to Maundy Thursday April 2 there will be a celebration of Holy Communion each morning at 7.30am. On Good Friday the Side Chapel will be open from 12noon to 3pm for people to come and meditate on the Passion of our Lord.

From Monday March 30 through to Good Friday April 3 there will be a Service each evening at 7.30pm with a special Youth Service on the Wednesday evening April 1.

On Tuesday evening March 31 at 8pm St. Mark’s is, once again, staging one of the regular highlights of the Holy Week programme with a Discussion Forum known as Seize the Day! The Forum which is open to the whole community, will be chaired by Mr Richard McReynolds and on the Panel of speakers will be : Mrs Rosamond Bennett, Chief Executive Officer of Christian Aid Ireland; Mr Jeffrey Donaldson, MP for Lagan Valley; Mr Alban Maginness MLA for North Belfast; the Rev. Dr. Bert Tosh, Cleric and Broadcaster and Mr Barkley Campbell, former head of sixth form at Laurelhill College.
