Project to capture your memories of Portstewart

What are your memories of Portstewart? Well local man Jimmy Dempsey wants to know and he is calling on you to take part in a very special project to look back at the memories of the seaside town you have built up over the years.

The project entitled ‘Do You Remember When?’ aims to bring people from far and wide to talk about their memories and experiences of Portstewart down the years.

“We want people to come along and share with us their memories of the town from years gone by to present day,” Jimmy told the Coleraine Times.

“We will be recording their thoughts and stories to release on to a DVD.

“The town has a lot of history and we want to capture what made it special to people.

“Who were the characters? Do you remember the Americans being here? What about the trams? The old Montague and the diving displays?

“There are so many things which make Portstewart special so please come along and talk about it and bring your friends too.”

If you would like to take part in this project the go to the Parish Centre, Portstewart, (behind Buds) at 7pm on Saturday 19 October.
