The Hall had been given a specialmakeover for the Coffee Evening, Cake Sale and Promise Auction!

There was much enthusiasm from the crowd as Pastor Jonathan Payne (auctioneer) invited bids for the ‘lots’ on offer. 46 people had made a promise to donate their time, a skill or an item including the Big Truck experience, Spring cleaning, Maths tuition, ‘Cha Cha Cha’ lessons, a luxury caravan weekend and many, many, more.

Pastor Jonathan was ably assisted by the ‘in-house comedy drama team’ who helped set the scene during the Auction. Through this event the tremendous sum of £3,700 was raised for ‘Cherish a Child’ the Church’s community project developed to help respond to the specific needs of local children. This innovative Ministry Outreach works alongside various Agencies to ensure that a real difference is made in the homes where it is most needed. Once a need is identified suitable items are sourced and in the past 12 months over 90 children have been helped through this initiative. A very big thank you to everyone who came to support this very worthy cause.
