Property award for McAleer and Rushe

COOKSTOWN based company McAleer and Rushe has won a top award from the UK’s leading commercial property owner.

McAleer and Rushe won the Developments Supplier Of The Year award for its construction work on 95-99 Baker Street and 4-6 Durweston Mews, London which was completed in February.

This involved the complete refurbishment and conversion of a seven storey office block to create 34,000 sq ft of social, affordable and luxury residential accommodation.

The Cookstown firm was particularly praised for the pride it took in the quality of work and the minimal number of snags.

British Land’s annual awards celebrate environmental, economic and social contributions to communities across the country.

Over 80 guests from around the UK attended the London event, representing British Land’s office and retail properties, new building projects and its partners including suppliers, contractors, occupiers and local communities.

E ntrants were nominated for 15 categories including Energy Reduction, Sustainable Collaboration and Community Contribution. A new category was introduced this year for Sustainable Development Champion.

Jonathan O’Neill Contracts Manager for McAleer and Rushe said staff were extremely honoured to receive such a prestigious award from a Titan in UK real estate.

“We were up against some very tough competition,” he said. “This award is a great boost to everyone’s efforts and makes us even more determined to ensure that sustainability continues to be an integral part of our development and the way we work.”
