Assemblyman Swann, who is also UUP Chief Whip and North Antrim UUP Chairman, issued his challenge to the Executive after he signed the pledge to support the Northern Ireland Federation of Housing Associations’ Manifesto for the Assembly Election in Stormont recently.

Mr Swann added: “There is a pressing need for the Executive to support the NIFHA Manifesto and provide more social housing across Northern Ireland.

“There is a very real need for family housing in the Ballymena and Ballymoney areas where the number of three and four bedroom houses available far exceeds the supply.

“There is the real danger that if such social housing is not provided, we could see an increase in the number of homeless people,” warned Assemblyman Swann.
