£100 fine and three penalty points

DRIVING at a speed of 49 miles per hour inside the '30' limit has cost a 56-year-old Ballymoney man £100 and three penalty points at North Antrim Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Richard Howard, of 54 Carnany Drive, Ballymoney, was said to have committed the offence at Garryduff Road, Ballymsoney, on June 30 at 5.17 p.m. during a police check.

When questioned about his speed, defendant said he couldn't really say anything and did not think he was going that fast.

The District Judge, Mr. Richard Wilson, said the three points meant that Howard was now disqualified.
