£134,000 investment in new windows for Dunmurry homes

ALMOST 50 Housing Executive tenants in the Glenburn/Oakvale area of Dunmurry are having their windows replaced with new uPVC windows through schemes costing £134k.

The Housing Executive prides itself on maintaining its properties to the highest standards possible and to this end regular maintenance works have been carried out on homes throughout the District.

Delighted that the scheme is underway for the 49 tenants Owen Brady, Housing Manager said; “This is a major boost for our residents living in these estates and we are delighted that we are able to start this scheme. The windows being replaced in these properties had come to the end of their useful life. By replacing them now, tenants should benefit from greater energy efficiency, noise reduction as well as lower heating costs.”

Mr Billy Thompson, Dunmurry Community Association also welcomed news of the scheme and said it would make a big difference to the comfort of people’s homes especially the elderly residents living in the Glenburn Road area.

The scheme is being carried out by Mascott Construction and their representatives will be liaising with residents and the Housing Executive during the course of the contract to ensure that the work achieves the high standards set and expected.
