£150,000 boost for Moyarget Road

REGIONAL Development Minister Danny Kennedy has announced the start of a £155,000 major resurfacing scheme on B67 Moyarget Road, Ballycastle.

The work is due to begin on 29 July 2013, between Islandarragh Road and Mazies Road. Scheme length is approximately 1.4kilometres.

The Minister said: “This scheme will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of the carriageway on part of this important route linking Coleraine and Ballycastle.”

To help minimise any inconvenience to the travelling public and local businesses this work is programmed to be completed using lane closures.

The scheme is expected to be substantially completed on 9 August 2013.

The above planned dates are subject to favourable weather conditions and Roads Service will keep the public informed of any change.

North Antrim Ulster Unionist MLA Robin Swann said: “This innovative road scheme will greatly improve the links between the North Antrim and East Londonderry constituencies and should help the flow of tourist traffic into the Moyle region.”
