£160,000 improvement scheme on Castlecatt Road, Bushmills

Transport Minister Danny Kennedy has announced that a £160,000 improvement scheme for B66 Castlecatt Road near Bushmills is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 23.

Danny Kenney said: “This scheme will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of this part of the carriageway on this important road.”

To help keep inconvenience to the road users and local businesses to a minimum, where possible, the work will be carried out using lane closures.

For the safety of road users and contractors a full closure of the Castlecatt Road will be in place from Monday 23 to Friday 27 June. During the closure local access will be maintained and a signed traffic diversion via B17 Priestland Road, B62 Ballybogey Road and B67 Benvardin Road will be in place for through traffic.

The Department has planned the improvements and traffic management arrangements to minimise any disruption, however, drivers should expect delays and are advised to allow additional time when travelling in the area.
