£200,000 roads scheme for Drumahoe

Minister for Regional Development Danny Kennedy has announced the start of a £200,000 resurfacing scheme in Drumahoe, Co.Londonderry.

The Minister said: “Resurfacing for a distance of 1.3 kilmometres northwards will take place on the C507 Tirbracken Road from its junction with Gorticaw Road will begin on Monday 28 January 2013. The scheme will also include improvements to the roads drainage system.

“This scheme represents a significant investment in the local road infrastructure and will, upon completion, provide a real benefit to the local community.”

As the scheme progresses temporary traffic management systems in the form of temporary traffic lights or stop go boards will be required.

This may lead to some delays to traffic at peak times. Road closures of short duration will also be required during the duration of the scheme and a diversion route via the B118 Tamnaherin Road will be signposted.

The scheme is due to be completed on 26 March 2013 dependant on weather conditions.

Roads Service would like to thank drivers for their patience throughout the works, as despite efforts to keep disruption to a minimum this may lead to some delays.
