£242k spent on staff mobiles

STAFF at the Western Health and Social Care Trust (WHSCT) ran up a collective mobile phone bill of £241,987 over the past three years.

The Health Minister Michael McGimpsey revealed the level of expenditure in response to an Assembly Question.

The costs related to the rental of mobile phone handsets and phone lines and the calls/texts made by staff.

It was the lowest level of expenditure on staff mobile phones of any Trust in Northern Ireland between 2007/8 and 2009/10.
