The main tasks will include the installation of 140 metres of storm sewer and the construction of five manholes at surface level.

Robert McLean, NI Water’s Project Manager for the scheme, said: “This investment is good news for residents in the area and will help accommodate further development in Culdaff Gardens.

“We will make every effort to minimise disruption, but a certain amount will be unavoidable. A traffic management scheme will be in operation along Central Drive in the form of traffic lights and a lane closure for the duration of the work.

“Vehicular access for residents will be maintained at all times, but pedestrian access may be affected for a short while, and there will be parking restrictions.

“Like all work of this nature, there is a health and safety element, and while signs and barriers will be in place, we encourage the public, especially children and young people, to stay away from the working site and from any machinery.

“NI Water would appeal for the support of parents and community representatives in this matter.”
