£290,000 resurfacing scheme for Garvagh

Transport Minister Danny Kennedy announced the start of a £290,000 major resurfacing scheme on the A29 Drumcroon Road, Garvagh.

The work is due to begin on 28 July from a point 200 metres north of the B66 Craigmore Road for a distance of 1.9 Kilometres towards Garvagh.

The Minister said: “The scheme will benefit road users for many years to come by improving the running quality of the road surface by using high quality durable materials.”

Traffic control will be in operation during the normal working day however a three day road closure will be necessary to replace a road culvert from Tuesday 29 July to Thursday 31 July. During this period traffic will be diverted via B66 Craigmore Road and B70 Boleran Road. Traffic control will be in operation from 1 August with a further road closure for 4 days in September to facilitate surfacing.

The scheme is expected to be completed by Friday 19 September.
