£300 fine for cannabis
A MAGHERAFELT man was fined £300 for possessing cannabis.
Ronan Hawthorn (25), of Piney Hill in the town, was convicted in his absence of having the drug on December 22 2009.
A PPS lawyer said the accused had a relevant record for a similar matter in 2008.
District Judge Des Perry made an order for the destruction of the seized cannabis.
