£400k St Columb’s Park enhancements to commence

Hawthorn Heights will carry out £400k in enhancements of pathways, allotments and park furniture in St Columb’s Park between now and the Summer.

The project is part of Council’s Parks Development Programme.

The works will involve a new car park at St Columb’s Park House, enhanced works to pathways throughout the park, as well as the regeneration of the allotments and park furniture.

Members of the public who regularly use the park are advised that the improvements may result in some minor disruptions and restricted access to certain areas over the coming weeks.

A spokesperson explained: “There will be the need to impose some restrictions while the work is being carried out but we shall endeavour to keep disruption to park facilities at a minimum.

“The improvements are the next phase in the park’s Development Programme, and will enhance the current facilities for the public.

“I would ask members of the park to follow any instructions regarding restricted access for the duration of the works.”
