£500k greenway for Glen
Derry City Council is inviting applications for a £500k contract to extend the city’s cycle network through the Glen.
Interested firms must apply for the contract by May 16.
The work will include the construction of a “bitmac cycle/footpath network, earthworks and drainage, with associated lighting within an existing operational park.”
A reinforced concrete staircase with “bespoke steel railings and bicycle channel, composite timber post and steel railing and ancillary street furniture such as benchs, seats, bollards, litter/dog bins, signage,” will also be developed by the successful bidder. The aim is to link Creggan Road, Glen Road, Baldrick Crescent and Lowry’s Lane.
