The band’s van was set on fire in Magazine Street whilst another vehicle was torched in nearby Fahan Street.

Residents of the Tower Hotel had to be evacuated during the incident.

“I am disgusted at this incident and will be meeting with the band who lost their van and musical equipment, later today to offer them our support and assistance.

“This incident will not deter us from continuing to host major musical and cultural events such as the Jazz Festival and the city continues to be a great venue for international festivals and events.”
