£50m lottery funding for East Antrim since 1995

In the 20 years since the first draw on 19 November 1994, 657 grants have been awarded to individuals and organisations throughout the East Antrim area, helping to change lives and transform communities.

The largest National Lottery grant in area was the £2.4m awarded to the restoration of Glenarm Harbour in January 1999. The smallest has been £190 in June 2006 to Greenisland Knockagh Youth Club to introduce the game of boccia to its members.

The first grant was £70,046 in December 1995 to provide new facilities at Carrickfergus Bowling Club.

It is not just good causes that have reason to celebrate the National Lottery’s 20th birthday, as the lives of individuals in Northern Ireland have also been changed with a stunning 81 millionaires created to date and a total of 647 winners scooping prizes of more than £50,000.
