£5,500 raised for Action Cancer

LARNE Action Cancer Group presented a cheque for £5,500 to Northern Ireland's leading local cancer charity at their recent group forum.

Janice Callan, treasurer, said the group had worked really hard to raise the fabulous sum during the last year.

“I want to thank everyone who has helped in anyway with the sheer determination, commitment and dedication in supporting the Larne Action Cancer Group,” she said.

Kyla Stratton of Action Cancer House congratulated the Larne group on their continued success and paid tribute to their hard work during the last year.

“All the members of the Larne Group have done a fantastic job for Action Cancer and it is a real achievement to raise so much and is an indication of their dedication and flair for fundraising,” she said.

Action Cancer is Northern Ireland’s leading local cancer charity working to save lives and support people affected by cancer in Northern Ireland. It relies heavily on donations from the public and business communities in Northern Ireland to provide a range of vital, life-saving services including digital breast screening services (40-49 and 70+), men’s MOT health checks, counselling, complementary therapy, Listening Ear Service, health promotion and research.

Services are available at Action Cancer House in Belfast and on the Big Bus, which visits over 200 venues a year.
