£55k upgrade to help bring new businesses

Mr Dickson, who is the Alliance party’s Social Development spokesman, Stewart, said he is delighted at the project which has received £55,000 of funding from the Department of Social Development.

Mr Dickson said: “This revitalisation is a crucial injection to the town of Carrickfergus. In particular I commend the work being done in West Street, where I have one of my constituency offices.”

Paying tribute to all those involved in the Regeneration Project, he added: “Not only will it make West Street more appealing by getting rid of the worst of its eyesores, but it should be good for traders and for those who have secured the refurbishment work.

“This work may well encourage new business ventures and build on the fantastic work done by Carrick Council through its Economic Development committee.”
