£60,000 to good causes

Montgomerys in Ballymoney Street was the venue for the annual Radio Cracker cheque presentation ceremony last week.

Altogether, the total funds raised in 2014 amounted to £60,000.00. The following five Charities were represented and received their cheques from Radio Cracker Chairman, Gordon Dawson and Treasurer, Maureen Allen.

E3 Initiative – Trevor Finlay - £9,500.00; Kids4school – Joanne McFarlane - £10,000.00; Mission Africa – Revd. Paul Bailie - £10,500.00 (Includes £2,500.00 for mosquito nets); Smiles Foundation – Barbara Morrison - £10,000.00; Tearfund – Paul Francis - £9,500.00. Second Sight, a small UK charity, working to cure reversible blindness in India, was not represented but was awarded £10,500.00 for cataract operations
