£80,867 for repairing Riverside Park wall

BALLYMONEY Borough Council has agreed to spend over £80,867 on repairing the retaining wall at Riverside Park.

During a recent Ballymoney Borough Council meeting, the Leisure and Amenities report explained: ‘The tenders returned on August 26 from the eight contractors on the Council’s select list for repairs to the retaining wall at Riverside Park were opened on August 31 by the Committee Chair.

‘Alderman Frank Campbell together with the Director of Borough Services and passed to the Council’s consultants, R Robinson and Sons for evaluation and report.

‘In accordance with the consultant’s recommendation it is recommended that Council accept the lowest tender received, that from BSG Civil Engineering Ltd, Maghera in the sum of 80,867.50 and commence the project to repair the retaining wall at Riverside Park, Ballymoney.’

It was proposed by Cllr Ian Stevenson and seconded by Cllr John Finlay.

Speaking at a Full Council meeting, Cllr Ian Stevenson praised the work adding: “It is good to see that the conclusion of the repair work is finally taking place.”
