PSNI appeal after cityside arson attack
POLICE are investigating a suspected arson attack at a property at Kavanagh Court in Londonderry during the early hours of yesterday.
A man in his forties had to be rescued by the NIFRS after the fire broke out at around 5.08am.
He was treated for the effects of breathing in smoke.
Police said yesterday that the investigation is at a very early stage however initial enquiries suggest an accelerant may have been poured through the letter box.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the Kavanagh Court area at around 5am yesterday. The number to call with any information is 0845 600 8000.
