PSNI appeal after flat and house are attacked

Police are investigating attacks on a flat and house in the Leckagh housing estate Magherafelt.

They say that a brick was thrown at the window of a property in Leckagh Drive during the early hours of Wednesday morning causing damage to the window.

Police also received a report that a window of flat in the same area had been smashed during the early hours of last Saturday.

Officers investigating are appealing for anyone who witnessed either incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigations to contact police.

A spokesperson said: "Police would encourage anyone who has been affected by incidents of anti-social behaviour to report the matter to police at the earliest opportunity in a bid to help us prevent and detect crime.

"Police will continue to work with partner agencies, local residents and community representatives to find solutions to any antisocial or criminal behaviour in the area.

"To those who think this kind of behaviour is acceptable – it is not. Where offences are identified we will deal with those involved in a robust manner."

Anyone with any information regarding these recent incidents should contact police on 101 quoting reference 188 02/05/20 or 54 06/05/20.

Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
